Shaun Moloney of Wild Skills has five decades of experience in the New Zealand bush.
Born in Whakatane, he grew up on the east coast of the North Island. After a short period living in Auckland he left New Zealand for a diving career in the oil fields of South East Asia. Returning to Queenstown in 1990 Shaun moved onto a rural homestead and raised a family with his wife Vesta.
His diving career has covered explosive ordinance disposal, historical salvage for Oxford University and leading edge oilfield construction. Shaun has also contracted for the US Military overseas.
He has spent the past 30 years climbing and hunting extensively in the Wakatipu region. An operational tracking team leader with Wakatipu Search & Rescue Shaun is also a mountain safety council NZ Police Firearms Instructor. In addition he is a qualified NZ Deerstalkers HUNTS instructor and range assessor. Shaun consults with various organisations on risk management and best practise.
Shaun is also the owner of Wild Pro which contracts out professional pest control services in the Wakatipu region.
